New collaborative agreement adds Expertise & Efficiency to local Healthcare Infrastructure The Village of Burk's Falls and the Sundridge & District Medical Centre are pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement to share a Maintenance Manager between their two community-owned and financially supported medical facilities. This has been a highly collaborative effort between administrative staff, committee members, municipal councillors and mayors to produce a solution that works for everyone without needing to increase permanent staffing. In an effort to share expertise, maintain efficiency and limit higher costs, this new shared staff agreement looks to benefit all parties. Both health centres are essential to our Almaguin communities and yet receive no ongoing provincial infrastructure funding, meaning local communities need to work closely together to manage the escalating costs of maintaining the buildings that house our local healthcare services. Cooperative initiatives like this create yet another stepping stone towards more collaborative regional healthcare infrastructure in the future.
