Shore Road Allowances

Shore Road Allowances are typically, a 20 metre (66 foot) strip that separates land from water. If you own a waterfront property, you may not own right up to the water unless title to a portion of the allowance has been purchased from the Village.

Provincial legislation allows municipalities to sell such road allowances, excepting any portions of the allowance which are covered by water. Property owners that are considering purchasing the shoreline road allowance abutting their property should speak with the Village Office for additional details and the purchasing process.
