The Village of Sundridge Council is made up of a Mayor and four Councillors, all elected at large. Council members rotate as the Deputy Mayor, to be able to step-in in case of the absence of the Mayor.

Lyle was born in the Burk's falls Hospital and spent his childhood growing up in Sundridge. Both his father, Vernon and mother, Barbara (Walker) had their parents relocate to Sundridge in the early 1900's. Many of his extended family still live, work and play in the Village area. Lyle's work career included tool and die and refrigeration mechanic apprenticeships , as well and a part time teaching job at Humber College. In 1986 he became one of the first employees at Honda of Canada Mfg. At HCM he spent 25 years in management and became a Certified Engineering Technician (C.E.T.) focused on the plant's quality control. His duties included coordinating production, new model start-ups, multi-departmental working groups and focus teams. He also spent years as a senior member of HCM's Health and Safety board, budget and environmental committees. He purchased a home in the Village and relocated back to Sundridge in 2010. He retired full time to Sundridge in 2012. Lyle currently devotes his time to his wife, Cathy, his four adopted children and two older boys. Councillor Steven Hicks |
Born and raised in Sundridge for twenty years; Steve returned to Sundridge eight years ago with his family out of a desire to live in a less complicated and more friendly community. Steve has twenty-five years of experience in workforce management, change management and expectation management and allows for that experience to assist him in navigating the roles, responsibilities and expectations that come with being part of municipal government. "I believe that being a part of municipal government is a position that; while difficult and challenging is also rewarding in a way that allows me to gain a broader understanding of the community. I hope to use that knowledge to create a new level of sustainability for Sundridge and the neighbouring municipalities for years to come." Councillor Stephen Rawn |
Born and raised in Huntsville, Stephen owned and operated a General Insurance Brokerage firm from 1974 to 1986. In 1987 his family Purchased Lake Bernard Park and moved to the area. They continued to operate the Park for the next 18 years. Stephen served one term on the Muskoka School Board while living in Huntsville and while operating his family business, he served on Strong Township Council for one term as a Councillor and several terms as Mayor.
