Budgets and Financial Reporting

The Village of Sundridge Treasurer is responsible for all financial functions including property tax billing, sewer billings, accounts payable and receivable, banking, financial reports to Provincial and Federal governments, funding requests, municipal budget and financial strategies.

It is the Village's responsibility to prepare a budget for Council's approval that meets the needs of the community and ensures that all of our initiatives and priorities are addressed. Each year, staff will present a budget that consists of total operating and capital expenditures for the upcoming year to Council for their consideration and approval. Members of the public are welcome to attend and provide input during this process. Please reference the documents below for more information regarding Village finances.

Financial Reporting

The Financial Information Return provides a standardized reporting of a municipality’s financial activities in the previous fiscal year.

Section 294 (1) of the Municipal Act states that the treasurer of a municipality shall in each year provide the Minister with a return containing information designated by the Minister with respect to the financial affairs of the municipality. This takes the form of the annual Financial Information Return (FIR).
